People leave the Service for all sorts of reasons, after varying lengths of time. But whether you’ve decided the Police Service isn’t for you after a year, or are retiring after 30 years of service, you can still access all the great products and services we have to offer.
You can still REMAIN a Member
You can remain a Member of the Society even if you leave the Service after any length of time. You can continue paying for existing policies and remain eligible to take out further plans.
You can still BECOME a Member
Even if you never joined Metfriendly during your service, you and your family members are still eligible to become Members after you have left.
Direct Debit
If you are no longer in the Police Service, instead of paying premiums through salary deduction, payments will be conveniently collected by Direct Debit from your bank account.
FREE pre-retirement seminars
If you know you’re leaving, or just beginning to consider it, make sure you have all the facts and are fully prepared. Come to a FREE seminar and find out all you need to know. You can find out more details here.
Commutations
If you are retiring from the Service, we offer a number of lump sum investment plans that you might like to consider should you decide to commute part of your pension. To talk to a member of our team about investing, send us your contact details via our secure form and we’ll be in touch to arrange a meeting at a convenient time for you.
Transfers to other Police Services
When transferring to another UK Police Service, you are able to continue your policies, savings and Life Insurance plans. Just let us know your transfer date so we can send you the relevant forms to continue payment of the premiums.
Call us!
If you are leaving the Service in the near future, or simply just considering your options, why not give us a call and we can explain more about continuing your Metfriendly membership (or becoming a new member). You can also ask us to call you back.
