Of course it’s the time of year to be stuffing our faces with turkey and pigs in blankets, but this year why not try something different with the Team Police Advent Challenge?
Fitness and fun!
Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, this is a great time in the year to take a little time to focus on your wellbeing and fitness, and a fun way for the Police family to come together. Packed with lots of fun exercises and fitness ideas, this could be your year to get festive fit for the holidays and really earn your Christmas dinner!
We are sponsoring the challenge this year as part of Metfriendly’s pledge to be side by side with the Police family in all that they do. Whether it’s mental wellbeing, like our helpful “Options” seminars or physical, like this one, we aim to always be right there with you.
It’s all about participation, enjoying yourself, and making a difference.
Who are Team Police?
Team Police is the fundraising body for Police sport in the UK. It raises much needed funds through an innovative commercial sponsorship scheme, to help improve the wellbeing of everyone who is serving and has served in our UK Police Forces, by enabling increased participation in sport and physical activity.
How does the challenge work?
You’ll need to visit the Team Police Advent Challenge website. Every day there’s a new fitness challenge for you to complete; just click the doors on the advent calendar. The exercises are also listed in a document for you to download and print. Once you’ve completed all of the daily challenges, hopefully you’ll have worked up an appetite for a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and no doubt had some fun too!
The good causes
Why not raise some money along the way and relieve your colleagues and family of some of their hard earned cash! It could give you an added boost every day to make sure you complete the challenges.
The nominated charities for this event are Police Gurney Fund and St George’s Police Children’s Trust.
